Early Life: Scott was born April 6, 1984, in Provo, Utah. He lived in Orem, Utah, for the majority of his childhood and youth.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Scott served an LDS proselyting mission in Salvador, Brazil. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a B. S. in Environmental Science, and then from Vermont Law School with a Juris Doctorate. He moved back to Utah and joined his brother’s Salt Lake City law firm as an attorney. Scott’s legal expertise was in national marketing compliance and litigation. Scott’s passion was traveling and exploring abroad. He went with his high school environmental science class to Costa Rica. He completed a BYU Study Abroad semester in New Zealand and then visited in Australia. He studied law during one summer in Cairo, Egypt, and interned another summer at a law clinic in Johannesburg, South Africa. He traveled with his father on an adventure to Nicaragua, and several times to Mexico. He also was able to tour in Paris (mid-route to other places). Scott had wished to be able to go to Antarctica some day, so that he would have been on all seven continents. He loved playing games of all sorts with family members and friends, and somehow managed to win most of the time. Risk and Scrabble were some of his favorites. Scott was very supportive of family and friends. During the last several years of his life, while living in the Salt Lake Valley, Scott had the opportunity to be roommates with each of his siblings and their families at different time periods. This led to powerful sibling bonds being forged. His siblings are very grateful they had the opportunity to spend so much close time with him as adults. Scott was talented at interacting with his nieces and nephews, and was referred to by some of them simply as “Uncle.” Scott Stewart Allen passed away at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, on April 12, 2016. He was surrounded by his family as he moved on to his next adventure. Scott’s untimely death was caused by acute myeloid leukemia and a subsequent brain hemorrhage. He was taken from this life just five short weeks after being diagnosed. He was 32.
