Mrs. W. Burford Davis, 74, died Thursday at Norton Hospital.

She was the former Katherine Harvey McCracken and a former city planner and assistant to the executive director of the old Louisville Area Development Association. She was a director emeritus and former president of the board of Louisville Collegiate School, former president of Vassar College Club of Kentucky, former regent and treasurer of Gunston Hall Plantation House in Lorton, Va., and past president of The Colonial Dames of America in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and Liberty Hall Inc. She was founder and former treasurer of Historic Homes Inc., chairman of historical activities for National Society of the Colonial Dames of America, a member of the Louisville Country Club and a past board member of Junior League of Louisville.

Survivors: two daughters, Patricia D. von Jena of New York City and Katherine M. Davis; two sons, Howard B. Davis of Clearwater, Fla., and Frederic H. Davis; her stepmother, Mrs. Frederic C. McCracken and two grandchildren.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday, Second Presbyterian Church, 3701 Old Brownsboro Road. Burial: Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation: Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane, 4-7 p.m. Friday.

Memorial gifts: Louisville Collegiate School, Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., or Gunston Hall Plantation House in Lorton.
