Services for Cecil George were held Thursday, Aug. 11, 2005, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of McClain-Hays Funeral Home. The Rev. Mike Smithey and the Rev. John Stephens officiated. Burial was in Hopewell Methodist Cemetery in Kemper County.

Mr. George, 83, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, in the Neshoba County General Hospital.

He was a native of the Hopewell community of Kemper County and was a resident of Neshoba County most of his life.
He was a retired timber cruiser/contract logger and was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army.

Mr. George was a member of the VFW and a member of East Philadelphia Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by four brothers,

two sisters,
Nettie Salter
Geneva McKee.

Survivors include three daughters,
Judy Herring
Gail Clark, both of Philadelphia,
Jan McDaniel of Jackson;

nine grandchildren;

15 great-grandchildren;

one sister, Ann McKee of DeKalb.

Pallbearers were Trea Herring, Kyley Clark, Chad Clark, Johnny Morgan, Jarrod McDaniel, Nathan Johnson, Allen McDaniel and Jonathan McDaniel. -
