Mr. Pitman was born Feb. 4, 1921 in Nacogdoches and died April 11, 2016 in Huntington.
John was a machinist by trade and worked and retired from National Supply Corp. after 41 years. He lived with his son Tommy for 16 years after the death of his wife. Mr. Pitman was of the Protestant faith and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Pitman was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Pitman; and children, Betty Nan McIntyre and Michael Pitman.
Survivors include his children, John Ronald Pitman, Kenny Pitman and Tommy Pitman.
