September 13, 2016 Alaska Dispatch News

It is with much sadness the family is reporting the death of Marlene Gail Poulson, 75, who died at her south Anchorage, Alaska, home on Sept. 6, 2015. A service was held at Legacy Funeral Home, Heritage Chapel at Angelus Sept. 20, 2015 with an interment ceremony to be held afterwards at the connected Angelus Memorial Park Cemetery.

Marlene was born on Aug. 30, 1940, in Wenatchee, Wash., to Clarence and Elinor Adams. She graduated Coulee City High School in 1958, and went on to become a medical assistant and cosmetologist. Marlene had five children with her first husband before marrying Harold Poulson in 1974. The two enjoyed more than 40 years together. "Marlene was the most beautiful, generous and loving woman I've ever known," said Harold, "Nothing made her happier than being surrounded by her kids, grandkids or great-grandkids. She was our angel here on earth and will forever be in our hearts." Marlene was an incredible artist: she enjoyed painting, crocheting, sewing and working on ceramics. She was also a talented musician who played the piano, clarinet, saxophone and accordion.

She is survived by her husband as well as two daughters and sons-in-law, Terri and Eric Thurston and Tammi and Bob Sherrer; a son and daughter-in-law, Ty and Noelle Hardt; 12 grandchildren and their spouses, Vanessa and Steven Keck, Taylor Thurston, Valerie Thurston, Grant Thurston, Bethany Hardt, Brandon and Danielle Sherrer, Travis Sherrer, Elias Hardt, Paige Hardt, Savannah and Mike Hviid, Dallas Hardt and Austin Hardt; as well as seven great-grandchildren, Finley and Elizabeth Keck, River and Watson Hviid and Hezekiah Evans as well as Landon and Presley Sherrer. She is preceded in death by her mother, Elinor "Babe" Adams; as well as her son, Tony Hardt; and daughter, Wendy Hardt. She is also survived by her brother and four sisters, Gary Adams, Diane Griffith, Judy Bach, Peggy Pierpoint and Connie Adams. Marlene was involved with the Muscular Dystrophy Association as well as the American Heart Association.
