July 1, 1937 was a hot sunny day when Janis entered this world as the fourth child of Nina and Eugene Fox in Rockland, Texas near the Neches River in East Texas.

With a hunger for knowledge she attended school in Diboll, Texas where she competed in both academic and sporting competitions, as well as cheerleading, and journalism. She graduated salutatorian of her class. After graduation she moved to Houston to attend business school. Sharing an apartment with her sister Nelda, they both worked while she attended school until graduation.

On September 7, 1957 Clinton Clark and Janis married. Janis's first job in the big city was with Texas Parts and Supply on La Branch St. Then she joined Mountjoy Parts Company on St. Emmanuel and eventually, Allied Parts Distributors on Pawnee St. Specializing in inventory control, she began programming and installing Triad Systems, pioneering early electronic data information technology.

An avid reader, Janis was seldom found without a book, a love of reading she shared with other family members. She would start a new book and read for two straight days until finished. Some of her favorite authors were Ernest Hemmingway, Shel Silverstein, and anything about John Wayne or historical in nature.

Janis and Clinton loved to travel and dine out. From all over the United States and to Europe several times, they always found something interesting and new to share.

One of Janis's greatest pleasures in life was the birth of her daughter Rebecca. The birth of her grandchildren, Edwin and Emily, provided her great joy and happiness in addition to watching them achieve various notable milestones in life.

On Thursday, April 7th, 2016, as a beautiful, blue sky kissed an earth bathed in the warmth of lovely sunlight, Janis drew her final breath. To the end, her faith in the resurrection the Creator promised was solid, and she looked forward to the time when sickness, pain, and death will not exist.

Janis is preceded in death by her mother, Nina Burchfield Fox; father, Eugene Fox; father-in-law, ID Clark; mother-in-law, Coy Clark; son-in-law, Edwin Howard Momberger Jr.; brother, Henry Earl Fox; brother-in-law, Artis Clark and wife, Ella Mae; brother-in-law, Jimmy Clark and wife, Rosemary; sister-in-law, Ailene Franklin and husband Dennis; and brother-in-law, Charlie Clark.

Janis is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Clinton Roosevelt Clark; daughter, Rebecca Louise Clark Momberger; grandchildren, Edwin Howard Momberger III, and Emily Ann Momberger; sisters, Nina Jean Anthony, Nelda Gill, Suzy Stewart and husband Lee; sister-in-law, Barbara June Hunnicutt; brother-in-law, Levi Clark and wife, Evelyn; along with numerous nephews, nieces, and many wonderful lifelong friends.

A memorial service will be held April 16th at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses Janis and Clinton attended, located at 6223 Storey Dr., Humble, Texas. A reception will be held at the Black Eyed Pea located in Deerbrook Commons.
