Anchorage Daily News October 10, 2013

Ralph Edwin Scott (Scotty), 57, Anchorage, went home to be with his Lord and Savior October 6th after a brief courageous battle with cancer of the brain (glioblastoma). He died at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born October 24, 1955, in Frostburg, MD, to Percy and Helen Wampler Scott. He married Jennie Crane on September 20, 1980 and they just celebrated 33 years of holy matrimony. They had three daughters. Ralph graduated with a nursing degree from Allegany Community College in 1977, and obtained a Bachelor of Religious Education degree from Baptist Bible College in 1987. Ralph and family moved to Alaska in 1989 and he continued his nursing career at Alaska Native Medical Center for the past 25 years. He was a Christian Godly man who loved the Lord, his family, enjoyed God's creation and the great Alaskan outdoors and its beauty. Ralph loved to travel with his family, take long drives, especially through Hatcher's Pass, music, fishing, hunting, hiking and paddling his canoe in local waters.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Jennie; daughter, Lauren Scott Turner (spouse Jonathan and son Andrew), Wasilla; daughter, Brittany Anne Scott, Anchorage; sister, Barbara Drew, Harmony, FL; brother, Robert Scott and family, Frostburg, MD; father-in-law, James Crane, Anchorage; brother-in-law, Jim Crane (spouse Ire and son Zachary), Panama City Beach, FL; cousin, Christine Wampler Eckhoff (spouse Joe and son Erik), Palm Bay, FL; Lezlie Shull, IA; Bulla and Lynne Mahi (sons Malakai and Mana), Anchorage. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter Brianna; brother, Harold Scott, and mother-in-law, Grace Morris Crane. Funeral services were held October 12 at Alaskan Heritage Chapel. Visitation preceded the funeral. Pastor Charles Bridges officiated. The Ralph Scott family thanks everyone for their prayers, love, and generosity.
