Rev. Woodard "Woodie" Harper, 86, of Charleston, passed away Friday, April 8, 2016 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Ronceverte.

Woodie was retired from the International Union Painters and Allied Trades District Council 53, Charleston. He was a member of Little Sandy Baptist Church and liked to go hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Harper; son, Willard Harper, Sr.; parents, Dewey Harper and Laura Ray Harper; brothers, Darris Harper and Billy Gene Harper; and sisters, Elcie Jones, Judy Miller, Betty Carol Raines and Lesy Harper.

Woodie is survived by his grandchildren, Willard Harper, Jr. and wife, Connie, of White Sulphur Springs, Mark Harper and wife, Shannon, of Rupert; brothers, Roger Harper and Edward Harper of Big Chimney; sister, Lucy Kay Teel of Charleston; and four great-grandchildren, Amber, Brianna, Kateland and Marissa.

Funeral service will be noon Friday, April 15, at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.

Visitation will be one hour prior.

Arrangements are in the care of Hafer Funeral Home, 50 N. Pinch Road, Elkview.
