Christopher P. McDonald of Anchorage, Alaska, passed away at home on March 21, 2015, after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. He came to Alaska in 1988, when he and his wife drove the Alaska Highway. He graduated from UAA with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Advertising. Throughout the years Chris was employed by McDonald's Corporation, Tesoro, Carlile Trucking, Home Depot, HMS Host and Alyeska Resort as a Human Resource Professional. Chris was born on March 28, 1962, in Springfield, Mass., to John McDonald and Barbara Desnoyers McDonald, who both preceded him in death. One of his favorite past times was motorcycling. He loved all kinds of sports but especially softball and football. Being from Massachusetts, The New England Patriots were his favorite football team. Chris had a special place in his heart for the Special Olympics. He was a truly generous, caring and fun loving man with a gregarious personality and a great sense of humor. His infectious smile lit up rooms. A devoted father and a loving supportive husband, Chris was most happy spending time with his family. Chris is survived by his wife, Sheryl Murray McDonald; his two sons, Cory and Shane, all of Anchorage; twin brother, Tim McDonald and wife Christine of Florida; brother, Rick McDonald and wife Lan of Florida; brother, Kevin McDonald and wife Michaela of Massachusetts; two sisters, Patty O'Connor and husband Jim of Massachusetts and Marie Goodreau and husband Donald of Anchorage; his sisters-in-law, Heather Newman and husband Ty, Wendy Hansen and husband John, all of Anchorage. He also leaves behind his mother and father-in-law, Jere and Sandra Murray of Seldovia, Alaska, and many nieces and nephews. A remembrance ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Cornerstone Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation at 383 Main Ave. 5th Floor Norwalk, CT 06851, or online at www.themmrf.org/. His cremated remains will be buried this summer at Angelus Memorial Park. Chris will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. (Taken from adn.com)
