Georgia C. McNulty

Georgia McNulty passed away peacefully on February 18, 2016 at the age of 92. Georgia, known to many as "Nanny", was born in Spokane, WA on November 22, 1923, to George and Anna Marier.

Family and faith were the guiding principles of Georgia's life. On December 31, 1941, she and Robert J. McNulty were married in Butte, Montana at St. John's Church. What followed was a life of service and dedication. Immediately after marrying, Georgia and Rob moved to Seattle, WA, where she supported him and kept the home fires burning while he pursued a 42-year career at Boeing. Seven children followed, at which time Georgia began countless hours of volunteering, including Mother's Club at Our Lady of the Lake School, Blessed Sacrament and Bishop Blanchet schools and Sacred Heart Church in Bellevue. She was a charter member and a forty-year volunteer for the Rose Reinhart Guild of United Cerebral Palsy, founded by her sister-in-law Rose Reinhart. In 1968, Georgia and Rob moved to Bellevue and then, in 1990, the couple moved to Bothell, where Rob passed away in 1992. Her service to others continued as a weekly volunteer at Evergreen Hospital, as long as she was physically able to do so. Georgia spent her last years at Brittany Park in Woodinville, before moving to a care facility following a stroke in 2014.

Georgia's family wishes to thank her for her years of unselfish love, devotion and caring. She is survived by her children Bob (Sheila Walter), Linda Kottenbrock (Mel), Roger (Gayle), Vicki Von Rotz (Harry), Margie Quinn (Bill), and GeeGee Sundby (Dave). She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and many, many nieces and nephews. Georgia was pre-deceased by her husband Rob, son Mark, two grandsons, as well as her parents and sisters Harriet Eaton and Shirley Carlson.

A memorial service will be held at Friday, March 18th at 11:00 am at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church at 17856 NE Woodinville-Duvall Rd in Woodinville, WA.

The McNulty family wishes to thank Lorraine and Dorel Puravet and all the staff of Sun Village Senior Care for their attentive care for our mother and grandmother over the past two years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Provail (formerly United Cerebral Palsy) Attn: Development, 12550 Aurora Avenue N., Seattle, WA 98133 or EvergreenHealth Foundation, 12040 NE 128th St., MS5, Kirkland, WA 98034-3098.

Rest in peace, Nanny. Your work is done, and it was done well.
