Milo - Funeral Services for Mr. Kenneth "Kenney" Wayne Shores, 61, of Pooleville is scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Milo Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. Interment will follow at the Pooleville Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.

Kenney was born March 6, 1955 at Tulsa, OK to the late Mr. Perry Eugene Shores and Mrs. Orenda Rene (Buchannan) Shores. He departed this life Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at his home in Pooleville.

Kenney was raised in Ardmore attending school there. He graduated from Ardmore High School in 1973. Initially he was employed at Uniroyal before taking a ranch hand position at the Sparks Ranch of Hennepin. Kenney was always a cowboy at heart loving the cowboy ways. He also worked at V.E. of Springer for 17 years as welding supervisor and currently was employed for M&M Supply of Healdton doing oilfield supply sales.

Kenney married the former Debbie Taylor on October 20, 1978 at Ardmore. They have resided happily together in Pooleville. He was an active member of the Milo Baptist Church where he enjoyed all the children and fellowshipping with his church family. Children were always drawn to him and his caring heart. Kenney loved the country life, ranching and just being on a good horse. He liked to hunt and fish but most of all loved to rope.

Preceding him in death was his Father, Perry Shores and Mother, Orenda Herron.

Survivors include his wife Debbie of the home; sister, Terry Hill of Ardmore; nieces, Andrea, Crystal, Angie, Lynzi and Stacie; nephews, Trey and Brent; numerous great nieces and nephews; special uncles, Jim Buchannan and Hib Buchannan; In laws, Elaine Johnson and husband Keith of Farmington, AR, Trent Taylor and wife Merry and Laurie Taylor and husband Roger, all of Wilson; numerous other family, church family and friends.

Bearers will be Colby Wells, Gatlin Wells, Dillon Payne, Rob Tidwell, Bill Jones and Jackie Hartman.

Honorary Bearers will be the Men's Milo Baptist Sunday School Class.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Tabitha Doss of Cross Timbers Hospice for kind felt care and support.

In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations be made to Cross Timbers Hospice 207 C St NE Ardmore, OK 73401.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home in Ratliff City.
