Gloria Christine Hendrix, age 84, of Halls died Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Dyersburg Regional Hospital of Dyersburg, TN.

Gloria was born May 29, 1931 in Claiborne Co, TN. She is the daughter of the late Winford and Magie Dunn.

She married the late Curtis Hendrix.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her four daughters: Lesa Hughes of Halls, TN, Pat Burnett of Kingston, TN, Tammy Mathis of Lenoir City, TN, Debbie Dyer of Merriville, TN and two sons: Harold Dunn of Farragut, TN, Leon Galyon of Semore, TN; Sister of one sister: Helen Dunn of Chattanooga, TN; She also has one grandchild. Grand daughter, Michelle Hughes.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Lenoir City, TN.

She was born in Speedwell, Claiborne County,TN, on May 29, 1931. She was born on land that has been in the family continuously since before 1794. Gloria attended Claiborne County High School before getting married. She lived for many years in Lenoir City and considered it to be home. She was a waitress and restaurant manager until disabilities and sickness forced her to quit. Gloria was lifelong Big Orange fan and love the VOLS.

Preceded in death by husband, Curtis Hendrix of Halls; parents, Lonnie E. Dunn of Lenoir City and Madge S. King

Dunn Moore of Oak Ridge; and sons, Michael L. Dunn of Lenoir City, Terry Galyon of Seymour. Survived by sister, Helen Whittler of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; son, Harry Dunn of Farragut; daughters, Pat Burnett of Kingston; Lesa Hughes of Halls, Tammy Mathis of Lenoir City; Debbie King Dyer of Maryville; and Leon Galyon of Seymour.

The family will be holding a private memorial service. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Lenoir City, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
