"Michele Ann Dempsey McCoy, 42, of Elizabethtown, died Friday, April 8, 2016, at Hardin Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with a brain tumor.

She was a native of Amelia, Ohio, and an English and German teacher at Fort Knox High School. She had a Bachelors and Master's Degree from Northern Kentucky University and Master's Degrees from Western Kentucky University. She was passionate about finding a cure for juvenile diabetes. She was a heartfelt and compassionate mentor to all students who crossed her path.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joy and Henry Dempsey Sr. and Dolores Homer Hopper.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at Grace Heartland Church in Elizabethtown. Burial follows in Hardin Memorial Park.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and continues at 9 a.m. Saturday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)...or to the Children of Michele McCoy Fund, c/o First Citizens Bank, attn; CSR, 425 W. Dixie Ave., Elizabethtown, KY 42701."
