Joseph T. Ware, formerly of Clarks Summit, died Saturday morning in his home. His first wife was the former Louise Moneyheffer, who died in 1980; and his current wife is the former Sally Hopkins King, whom he married in 1990.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Arthur and Phoebe Walker Ware. Before retirement, he owned the Citgo Gas Station in Clarks Summit, as well as L&M Shoes in Clarks Summit for over 35 years.

Earlier in his career, he was a manager for Washington National Insurance Co. He was a proud Army veteran, serving in World War II, and a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church and VFW Post 7069 in Clarks Summit. Joe was extremely active with the Abington Little League, where he served in various ways for over 30 years.

Also surviving are two daughters, Dorothy Keslosky and husband, Michael, Liberty Twp, Ohio; and Doris Ann Cowell and husband, Gary, Las Vegas; six sons, Carl Ware, South Abington Twp.; Bill Ware and wife, Celina, Charlestown, Ind.; Gerald King, Scranton; Barry King and wife, Jackie, Avoca; Patrick King, Scranton; and Francis King, Duryea; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Arthur, Jack, Harry and Edward; and a sister, Dorothy Catracchia.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10am in Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St, Clarks Summit. All those attending are asked to go directly to the church. Interment with full military honors will follow at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst. There will be no public calling hours.
