Patty was born to John and Doris Hamlett of Fredericksburg on April 29, 1954. She was a 1972 graduate of Spotsylvania Senior High School where she played field hockey, basketball and softball. Patty was devoted to her children and had a successful career working in the Spotsylvania County Circuit Court Clerk’s office.
Survivors include her husband, G. W. Dickinson; son Chris Harrison; daughter Jaclyn Harrison Rutherford (Jody); step-sons Drew Dickinson and Garrett Dickinson(Tiffany); and many grandchildren whom she loved dearly Morgan and Easton Rutherford, Cole, Luke, Gracie, Lilly, Hadley and River Dickinson; and her brother, Bruce Hamlett.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Friday, April 15 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to noon prior to the service. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
