Carol grew up in Linn County, Kansas and attended schools there. She then attended and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in education from Fort Hays State University. Carol lived and taught elementary school in Sylvan Grove, Ks., Sublette, Ks., Larned, Ks., and in California before moving to Garden City. She moved to Garden City in 1962. She continued teaching at Buffalo Jones Elementary School until 1993 when she retired. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Garden City and a member of KNEA.
Survivors include a sister Brenda Wade of Downey, California and 7 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by a sister Connie Beeton.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City with Rev. Scott Schurle officiating. There will be no calling hours. The family requests memorials to the Finney County Humane Society in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
