He was born August 4, 1958 in Ottumwa, IA to Carroll L. and Barbara Jean McCullough Parr.
A graduate of Ottumwa High School in 1976, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1976-1980 and served on the USS Nitro. He graduated from Indian Hills Community College in auto mechanics and auto body.
He worked at Wapello Co. Tire, Goodyear Tire in Oskaloosa, Duea Chevrolet in Albia & Ottumwa, Superior Machine in Albia and Cargill Meat Solutions, retiring in 2013.
He enjoyed watching his nephews Figure 8 Race, NASCAR and was a big Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan.
Surviving are his daughter, Elizabeth Kleine of Ottumwa; four grandchildren, Kristiana, Aidreana, Brieana and James; four sisters, Teresa Martin of Tulsa, OK, Joy (Mike) Orona of Ottumwa, Kathy (Mark) Vander Meiden of Oskaloosa, Diana (Stan) Swartz of Ottumwa; a brother, David (Judy) Parr of Kaufman, TX; his stepmother, Jackie Parr of Ottumwa; two stepbrothers and four stepsisters and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Gee; his father, Carroll Parr and a brother, Paul Parr.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Skinner officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery with military services conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion.
Visitation begins after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
