WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Ronald W. Fleming, 56, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at his residence, surrounded by his family, after a brave and courageous battle with cancer.
Ron was born April 19, 1959, in Fort Atkinson, to Robert and Jean Fleming.
He married Connie J. Aschenbrenner on July 1, 2011, in Wisconsin Rapids.
Ron was a dedicated employee of Enbridge Energy as a welder and crossing coordinator for more than 30 years.
Ron loved to watch sports, especially the Cincinnati Reds and Green Bay Packers. He was an avid Harley Davidson fan, liked to lift weights, enjoyed a spirited game of Sheepshead, and liked to host friends and family on the pontoon boat cruising the Waupaca Chain ’O Lakes.
Ron is survived by his wife, Connie; son, Matthew Fleming of Madison; daughter, Kimberly Fleming of Madison; parents, Robert and Jean Fleming of Fort Atkinson; stepson, Kris Grove of Madison; Connie’s two daughters, Allison (special friend Brad) Kubisiak of Plymouth, MN, and Andrea (Brian) Kraatz of Plymouth, MN; brother, Michael (Debbie) Fleming of Fort Atkinson; and sister, Lori Roth of Jefferson.
Ron was preceded in death by his brother, David.
Memorial services will be held at noon on Saturday, April 2, at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids with the Revs. Darwin and Clara Kobs from Anointing Oil Faith Church officiating.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be designated to the UW Cancer Center-Riverview.
