DIED SATURDAY
Mrs. Irene P. Evans, 78 widow
of Edward S. Evans, died Saturday
in Deer's Head State Hospital,
where she had been a patient
for a month.
A native of Marumsco, her parents
were the late Robert and
Phoebe Landon Hall. Mrs. Evans
was twice married. Her first husband,
Peter Marshall, died in 1923.
Surviving are a son, Edward S.
Evans, Jr. of Crisfield; four
daughters, Mrs. Manie Bell and
Mrs. Orland Howard, both of Pocomoke
City, Mrs. Early Groom
of Baltimore and Mrs. Hattie
Lawson of Crisfield; 12 grandchildren
and 29 great - grandchildren;
three sisters, Mrs. Herbert
Bell of Rehoboth, Mrs. Irving
Matthews of Pocomoke City and
Mrs. Sidney Ennis of Princess
Anne.
Services were held Monday at
3:30 p m. in the Bradshaw and
Sons Funeral Home here. The
Rev. R. Perry Ellis, pastor of
the First Baptist Church of Pocomoke
City, officiated . Interment
was in the Baptist Cemetery,
Pocomoke City.
