June Maitoza passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 30, 2016, in Monterey. Married to her husband of 45 years, Walter J. Maitoza, they raised and loved five children.
She enjoyed working for the Pajaro Valley Unified School District in the resource department for over 25 years. June's passion, aside from her large family and numerous friends, was golf. She worked at Seascape Golf Course at the Charity hole for over 14 years. Nothing except an occasional gambling weekend got her as excited as playing golf.
She is survived by her children (and spouses) Wanda (Stephen) Braveman, Trudy Maitoza (Otis Coen), Walter, Jr. (Joannie) Maitoza, Ronald (Martine) Maitoza, and Cheryl (Steve) Rusconi; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother William Anctil and wife Connie of Oregon; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Valley Catholic Church on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 1 p.m., with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
