West Point - John Charles Johnstone, 69, passed away, on April 8, 2016 at North Mississippi Medical Center, in Tupelo.

Mr. Johnstone was born January 22, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Albert F. and Edith M. Wiederhold Johnstone and resided most of his life in West Point. He married Sallie Crowley in West Point in September of 1987 and was married for 29 years. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in West Point and was a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Johnstone was a master plumber and owned and operated Johnstone Plumbing Company in West Point. He also worked part time at the Clay County Sheriffs Department, was a master mason at the Grand Lodge of Mississippi, F. & A. M. # 0040 and was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Andrew Johnstone.

Funeral services will be April 11, 2016, 11:00 AM at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Ben Yarber officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his Wife of 29 years, Sallie C. Johnstone of West Point; son, Marc Johnstone of North, South Carolina, two grandchildren, Tyler Henley Johnstone of North, South Carolina and Alex Johnstone of Alabama; step daughter, Treva Hodge of Cedar Bluff; two step grandchildren, Katie Hodge and Jessie Hodge both of Cedar Bluff; sister, Lorel 'Joy' Johnstone of Kansas City, MO and a brother, William 'Bill' Darl Johnstone of West Point.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Scott, Ramirez Williams, Brad Pettit, Terry Scott, Devin Strong and Anthony Cummings.

Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 AM Monday April 11, 2016 at Calvert Funeral Home.
