On April 7th, 2016, Darrell slipped the surly bonds of earth to touch the face of God.
Darrell Eugene Payne was the first born to Robert Sr. and Joyce Payne. He was a member of New Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He graduated from Nova High School (1982). Immediately after graduation, Darrell enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. (USMC) which he served from 1982 until 1996, where he received many certificates and awards.
*During Darrell's tenure in the USMC, he traveled to many countries, states and island. In the midst of these journeys, the Persian Gulf War was ordered by Saddam Hussein. Darrell was later honorably discharged for medical reasons at the rank of sergeant.
Professional Experience/Education:
Darrell received his Bachelors of Science in Business Management Degree from University of Phoenix. Senior loan officer, account manager, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps [logistics], Camp Lejeune N.C. Employment: International Longshoreman Association (local 1526).
Left with his precious memories are the loves of his life, daughters, Tyisha and Amari. Parents: Robert Sr. and Joyce Payne. Siblings: Robert Jr., Sterling, Chad (Tederra), Rodney (Nancy) Robertson, Keion, DeMeara and TraMeara. Nieces: Ternisha, Morgan, Jocelyn and Zion. Nephews: Xavier and Michael. Uncles and Aunts: Glenn (Diane) Thomas, Brad (Shirlene) Payne; (Adopted aunt and uncle) Emmett and Janett Green. Also, a "devoted" companion, Sabriena Hill; (thank you). Special sisters: Lisa Odomes, Desire Harris, Nigeria Livingston and Keisha White. "Thank you" to a special host of cousins, neighbors, co-workers and friends.
*Persian Gulf War (1990—1991)
This conflict was triggered by Iraq's invasion of Kuwait, led by its leader Saddam Hussein. He decided to invade this small oil-rich nation for mere sake of oil and power. Many lives were taken in this senseless war.
Darrell braved through that war, but later in life he was eventually succumbed by the dreadful disease of cancer.
