Chester Shelby Taylor, Jr., 75, of Hartsfield, died Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Chuck Scarborough officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Lee Thompson, Timmy Thompson, David Grace, Randall Sammons, Doug Weeks and Chris Thomas. Randall Moore, Geoffrey Moore, Rickey Frazier, Landan Frazier, Taylor Woodall, John Frazier and Jaron Frazier will serve as honorary casketbearers.

Born January 2, 1941 in Moultrie, he was the son of the late Chester Shelby Taylor, Sr. and Madelyn Blackey Taylor. He was a United States Army veteran and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He retired from Piggly Wiggly and later retired from Colquitt County Sheriff Department, Southern Supply and Sanderson Farms. His family remembers how he loved the outdoors, horses and people.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Welch.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Ledford Taylor of Hartsfield; three daughters, Kimberly Taylor Moore, Melissa Taylor Frazier and Eddie of Leesburg, Sandy Taylor Woodall and Vance of Hartsfield; ten grandchildren, Randall Moore and Jean, Geoffrey Moore, Ricky Frazier and Shawnte, Jaron Frazier and Carolyn, Landan Frazier, John Frazier, Katavia Frazier, Taylor Woodall, Brelynda Frazier and Kylah Frazier; ten great-grandchildren, Hannah Moore, Shelby Moore, Halleigh Moore, Christa Williams, Ekzavier Frazier, Andrew Frazier, Adrian Frazier, Zoey Frazier, Riley Frazier and Julien Frazier; five sisters, Joyce Green of Thomasville, Katrina Weeks and Robert of Norman Park, Karen Thompson and Andy of Moultrie, Brenda Matthews of Sylvester and Jean Barton and Gerald of Knoxville, Ky.; two brothers, Kenneth Taylor and Linda of Moultrie, Jack Taylor and Janice of Covington, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
