Jeffrey Wittmann Dender, 50, of Falls Church, Virginia, died on March 22, 2015, at his home after enduring 6 years of cancer.


Among his survivors is his devoted husband of 20 years, David Howard Dender. Married in Boston, Massachusetts, their life together was truly a beautiful love story.



Jeffrey was the child of the late James Edward Dender and the late Ingrid Wittmann Dender, and was the beloved grandchild of Albin Egon Wittmann and Mathilde Braun Wittmann of Huntsville, Alabama.


Jeffrey was born in Huntsville, Alabama and grew up in the cities of Knoxville, Maryville and Alcoa in Tennessee.


Also surviving are Jeffrey's sister, Lisa Marie Dender of Maryville, Tennessee, and her children, Christopher Bowen and Patrick Lindsley, and also siblings by adoption, Paul Dender and Mary Elizabeth Kirchhofer.


Jeffrey was a graduate of the Kennedy-Western University studying business. The bulk of his work life was as an employee of Feld Entertainment, working on such beloved productions as the Ringling Brothers Circus, Disney on Ice and Monster Truck Jam. A talented business leader, Jeffrey was highly regarded and revered by his co-workers. Jeff also worked at AT&T, British Telecom and Concert.


Jeffrey was received by the Advent Funeral Home in Falls Church, VA, and was interred on December 29, 2015, at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville, Alabama.
