She was born July 30, 1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John D. Carlson & Beverly Sheldon Despain. Susan attended Carbon High School in Price, Utah. She graduated from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City with a Bachelor degree in Nutrition and later obtained her Master's degree in Boston in the same field.
Susan moved to Yuma, Arizona in 2000 where she found a home. She worked at Yuma Regional Medical Center for a few years and then took a job as a Renal Dietician with Davita Yuma Dialysis Center where she developed a close relationship with each of her co-workers and patients. She also worked for several local nursing homes.
Susan had a passion for tennis. She was active in the Yuma Tennis Association where she spent many enjoyable hours and made lasting friendships.
Survivors include: Mother, Beverly Despain of Price, UT, Sister Jacque (Richard) Guymon of West Jordan, UT, Brother, Steve (Diane) Carlson of Yerevan, Armenia, and several nieces and nephews.
Susan was preceded in death by her Father, John Carlson.
Susan will be remembered for her vivacious personality and friendly smile. She will be missed. Her family wishes to thank her co-workers and friends for their kind and loving care.
Burial will be in the Price City Cemetery at a later date.
