Reports of his burial differ between Casa Grande, AZ and Phoenix, AZ.

"Our family has searched long and hard for Hiram's grave but have not yet been able to locate it. As a child my father took us to Casa Grande AZ looking for his grave. Family stories/rumors indicate he may have been buried under the saloon he "owned" at the time of his death in Casa Grande, AZ. Hiram was an adventurer and risk taker; sort of a rags to riches to rags story.....always searching for that next gold strike or business venture. Some stories indicate that he owned the saloon in Casa Grande on borrowed money and when he died he was more or less broke, hence no one had and $$ to pay off the saloon or for his funeral or headstone. Whomever lent him the $$ for the saloon took it after his death. Shortly after Hiram's death, his son William returned to the Santa Cruz area." --- Philip Trumbly, 2nd Great grandson of Hiram Scott.
