Everette Eugene Cowan, 84, formerly of Lancaster, KY passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016. Born July 21, 1931 to George Everett and Melinda Stevens Cowan, he was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp., and was a retired employee of Proctor and Gamble. He graduated from Somerset Community College with an Associate Degree in business, and attended Fairview Baptist Church with his mother and sister.

Survivors include two sons; Robert "Bob" Cowan of Lexington, KY, and Charles "Chip" Cowan (Devonne) of Georgetown, KY, one daughter; Terry Mullins (Kelly) of Berea, KY, one brother; Billy Mason Cowan of Lawrenceville, GA, one sister; Cora Christine McKinney of Lancaster, KY, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his best friend, confidant, and love of his life; Virginia King Gordon & family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; David and Paul Cowan, and one infant sister.

Visitation will be Friday, April 15, 2016 from 5-9pm at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Funeral service will be 10:30am Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the funeral home with Reverend Gary King officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery with military honors being provided by American Legion Post #18. Casket bearers will be: Kelly Mullins, Charles Cowan, Casey Cowan, Caleb Cowan, Marvin Carey, Austin Carey, Larry "Lil' Junior" Carey, and Sawyer Carey.
