Pansy Marie Ballew Young, age 88, of Seven Mile Ridge, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 10th, 2016 at Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Rosie Grindstaff Ballew and wife of the late Troy Young, who passed away in 1971. She was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Patsy Greene Young; sisters: Mary Lail, Lula Hughes, Myrtle Hollifield and Ruth Autrey; brothers: Kelly Ballew, Charlie Ballew and James "Tot" Ballew . Pansy was a life-long member of Fairview Baptist Church who loved canning, quilting and giving the quilts away to her friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Ronnie Gouge and Rev. Scott Hollifield officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Yancey County at 856 Georges Fork Road, Burnsville, NC 28714.
