Shirley A. Mosley of Tucson, AZ passed away November 6, 2008, at age 78, from pneumonia.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Shirley was born in Lower Burrell, PA, the youngest of three children of Clyde and Theresa Means. Shirley grew up in New Kensington, PA and graduated from New Kensington High School in 1948. She worked for several years for Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corporation.

Shirley married George F. Mosley of Natrona Heights, PA at Calvary Lutheran Church in Arnold, PA. Shirley and George were happily married for 55 years.

The Mosley family lived for brief periods in Chicago Heights, IL (1959-1962), Cincinnati, OH (1962-1965), and Green Bay, WI (1965-1969). Shirley remained a loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers.

In 1969, the family moved to Palatine, IL where she worked in administrative positions at Hunting Ridge School, Palatine Hills Junior High School and Palatine High School. Shirley was active in the Palatine Presbyterian Church and the Reseda Couples Club.

In 1988, Shirley and George moved to Tucson, AZ. She worked for many years as a volunteer at Tucson Medical Center. She loved to play bridge and was an integral member of her bridge club. Shirley was an active and dedicated member of Christ Presbyterian Church for the past 20 years.

Wherever she lived, Shirley made close, life-long friendships. She was known for her enthusiasm, humor, faith and selfless attention to the needs of others. She was the loving center of her family and will be dearly missed.

Shirley is survived by her husband, George; son, Mark and grandchildren, Michael and David of Chicago, IL; son Jeffrey and grandchildren, Bennett and Jenna of Bozeman, MT; son, James and daughter-in-law, Jennifer of Santa Barbara, CA; sister, Hildegarde Jenson of New Kensington, PA; brother, C. Palmer Means of Troy, MI and sister-in-law, Eileen Mosley of Sarver, PA.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 16, 2008, at 300 p.m. at Christ Presbyterian Church, 6565 E. Broadway Ave., Tucson, AZ 85710. A reception will follow immediately afterwards in the Fellowship Hall of the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund at Christ Presbyterian Church.
