Joe Kirby was born November 24, 1927 in Texas. He moved to Bakersfield as an infant with his parents where he lived most of his life. Joe was a C.P.A. for 25 years. He started at Cal State Bakersfield, then worked at Cal State Long Beach, retiring from there and moving back to Bakersfield.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Elbert; mother, Katie; and brother, Ted.
He is survived by his brother, Bob and wife Anna Marie Kirby; two children, Joe and Donald; 2 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Southwest Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Optimal Hospice, especially Kimberly, Marissa, Chris, Angela and Chrishna for their care and concern.
