Dianna L. Akers, 31, and Stephanie Michelle Beavers, 9, both of Springfield, died at 2:47 a.m. Saturday from injuries sustained in a house fire.

Dianna Akers was born Aug. 29, 1959, in Springfield, the daughter of Charles Akers and Doris L. Cadigan. She was employed at the Wee Care Day Care.

Surviving are one son; father, Charles Akers; mother, Doris L. Cadigan; one brother and two sisters.

Stephanie was born Nov. 23, 1981, in Springfield, the daughter of Charles Beavers and Dianna Akers. She attended Calvary Temple Church and was a third-grade student at McClernand School.

Surviving are father; one brother; grandparents, Charles Akers, Doris L. Cadigan, Charles Davis Beavers and Ida Murphy; two great-grandmothers, Lucille Ray and Susan Sargent.

Joint services will be held Thursday at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Swaim officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
