CAPE ELIZABETH - Emma Jordan Kennedy, 96, a lifelong resident of Cape Eliz- abeth, passed away in Portland on Wednesday, April 6, 2016. Emma was born in South Portland on Nov. 9, 1919, to Pomeroy and Ivy (Jenks) Jordan.
Emma married Arthur J. Kennedy on Nov. 29, 1935. She worked for many years in the Cape Elizabeth school lunch program, retiring as program director in 1980.
She was predeceased by her husband Arthur J. Kennedy; son Richard A. Kennedy; granddaughter Robyn Ann Kennedy; brothers Dwight H. Jordan, William H. Jordan and Chadwick Jordan; and sisters Norma F. Wainwright and Barbara Jordan.
She is survived by her two grandsons, Richard A. Kennedy Jr. and wife Juli of Yarmouth, and Jeffrey W. Kennedy and wife Vicki of Cape Elizabeth; daughter-in-law Sally W. Kennedy of Kennebunkport; five great-grandchildren, Adam, Cameron and Emma Kennedy of Yarmouth, and Kyle and Kelsey Kennedy of Cape Elizabeth; one sister, Dorothy J. Miller of San Marcos, Calif.; and two brothers, Randall Jordan of Cape Elizabeth and Kenneth Jordan of Roseville, Calif.
Visiting hours will be 4-7p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2016, at
Hobbs Funeral Home
, 230 Cottage Rd., South Portland. Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Cape Elizabeth.
