A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2001, in St. Peter's Catholic Church in Portland for Clayton V. Adams , who died May 5 at age 78.

Mr. Adams was born Jan. 3, 1923, in Umatilla. He moved to Portland as a child and graduated from Benson Polytechnic High School. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee during World War II in the Pacific. He was a master carpenter, working out of Local 247, until retiring. In 1944, he married Evelyn I. Blakely.

Survivors include his wife; son, Jerry L.; daughter, Janet Lyons; brothers, Irvin, Noel, Dale and Gary; sister, Eudell Dickey; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Interment in Rose City Cemetery Mausoleum. Remembrances to Kaiser Hospice. Arrangements by Rose City Funeral Home.
