OBITUARY - June 14 1940 - Fulton Daily Gazette - "Mrs. Mary Jane (Polly) Davis, 83 year old, a native of Callaway Co, died at the Kings Daughters Home in Mexico,Mo at 12:00 wed. night. She was the daughter of H.J. and Mary Jane Roberts. She was born and reared at the Roberts home, seven miles east of Fulton. In 1877, she married W.H. Davis, who preceded her in death, as did one son.She is survived by a son. CLint Davis, of Jefferson City, a grandddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Early in life she united with the Ebenezer Baptist Church ,n.e. of Fulton, and funeral services were conducted there at 10:30, friday. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Davis has been in the Kings Daughters Home for the last 14 years and enjoyed good health until May , when she fell and broke her hip. She was the last of a family of seven children."
