Donald S. Ayer of Cottage Place, Old Saybrook, died Sunday at Saybrook Convalescent Hospital. He was 83.
He was born in Old Saybrook. He was a U.S Air Force veteran of World War II. He had worked at R.R. Donnelley in Old Saybrook.
He is survived by his wife, Etta Kierstead Ayer; two sons, John R. Ayer of Westbrook and David A. Ayer of Old Saybrook; and two grandsons.
Funeral and burial will be private.
