James R. Riley James R. Riley, age 76, passed away peacefully April 5, 2016, at Joliet Area Community Hospice.

James is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Cathy (Hinchey) Riley; children, Michael (Sheila), Daniel (Linda), Richard (Corrinna), Genny Young, Nick (Tammie), Jamie (Rob) Weissman, Richard (Kate) Watson, Christy Watson; siblings, Mary (Gerald) Brown, John (Debbie) Riley, Barbara (Rick) Patrick; 23 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas Green Riley and Genevieve (Chilcott ) Riley; 3 brothers, Nicholas, Thomas and William Riley; 2 grandchildren, Angela Marie and Nicole Starr; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A member of the Church of God and proud U.S. Army Veteran.

Retired from Rock Island-Metra after 40 years of service.

He enjoyed helping others and volunteered and ministered at Morning Star Mission. He raised pigeons for over 30 years.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 7, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. at Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Golden officiating.

Visitation Thursday, 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Family and friends will gather at funeral home Friday at 10:00 a.m. for 11:00 a.m.

Military Honors and Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

Memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice or to the family would be appreciated.
