Donna Marie Caldwell, 75, of Parsons, died at 4:24 A.M., Saturday, April 9, 2016 at her home. She had been in failing health for the past two years.

She was born October 7, 1940 at Mound Valley, a daughter of Donald Marine and Ressie Marie (Ramsey) Babb. Her family moved to Parsons in 1944 and she attended school here. After completing high school she attended and graduated from the Labette Community College and later Pittsburg State University. She received certification to work as a mental health technician and was employed fifteen years at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center.

On March 9, 1958 she and Clifford J. Dill were united in marriage at Independence, KS. They later divorced and he preceded her in death on February 27, 1981. She later married Donald E. Caldwell on June 2, 1978 at Miami, OK. They later divorced and he preceded her in death on May 24, 1990.
She was a member of the Bible Holiness Church. While attending junior college, she was a member of Aware. She also served as President of Head Start from 1982-1984. She also was a foster parent and raised numerous children through the years. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include: two sons – Clifford Brian Dill, Parsons, Shawn Marine Caldwell, Parsons; two daughters – Shayla Lynn Baker, Parsons, Shanda Diane Caldwell, Parsons; thirteen; grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister – LaDean Keeling.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home with Pastors Albert Schaper and Seth Herring officiating. Burial will be in the Mound Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
