Graveside services with military honors for Joe Curtis Pierce, 82, of Lufkin will be held in the Deadwood Cemetery in Panola County.
Mr. Pierce was born August 21, 1933 in Panola County, Texas to the late Paul and Ottie B. (LaGrone) Pierce, and died Friday, April 8, 2016 in a local hospital.
Mr. Pierce had resided in Lufkin most of his life. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, stationed in Alaska. Mr. Pierce retired from American Color Graphics, where he was a truck driver. Truck driving was his life. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Gary Joe Pierce, Sr. and Greg and Cindy Pierce; grandsons, Gary Joe Pierce, Jr. and wife Tenisha, Jeremy Pierce, and Cody Pierce and wife Shay; granddaughter, Amanda Pierce; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife and mother of his children, Mary Pierce; and second wife, Freddie Kaye Pierce.
