Susan Marie Potter, 60, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Mosaic Life Care Hospital, Saint Joseph, Missouri. She was born December 17, 1955 in Des Plaines, Illinois, the daughter of Georgia and Roy McGarrah. She graduated from Central High School and Missouri Western State College with a Bachelor of Arts in Arts Education in 1975. She married Whitney "Nick" Potter May 11, 2006 and he survives of the home. She worked at Sherwood Medical from 1980 - 1993 when it closed during the flood of 1993. She enjoyed growing tomatoes and plants, fishing, and she loved to cook and attend family outings. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. Susan was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Nancy McGarrah. Survivors include her husband, Whitney "Nick" Potter of Saint Joseph, Missouri, a daughter, Kelly (Jordan) Siewert of Toledo, Ohio; two grandchildren, Natalie and Lucas, three sisters, Tina (Dennis) McGarrah-Vance of Saint Joseph, Missouri; Maureen (William) Floyd of Lees Summit, Missouri and Pamela Galvan; one nephew, and several nieces. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday with a funeral service to be conducted at 2:00 pm, on Tuesday, at Rupp Funeral Home, with Fr. George Cleaves officiating.
