Cox, Williston Madison, III – age 61, of Louisville, TN passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 11, 2012.

Madison was born in Knoxville and graduated from West High School and the University of Tennessee. Throughout his entire life he possessed a passion for motorcycles. An avid motorcycle racer throughout the early part of his life, one of his many accomplishments on the track included a victory at Daytona in 1981 as a part of the Battle of the Twins Stock Production Division. While his love for motorcycles would never cease, he would later move on to a career in real estate in east Tennessee.

He was married to Kerela Gene Schilling of Miami, FL and is preceded in death by his father Williston Cox Jr., a decorated United States Air Force pilot and former POW during WWII and mother Edwine Cox, both of Knoxville.

Survivors include sons, Williston Cox IV and Jerome Cox of Knoxville; sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Mark Holtkamp of Morristown, TN; cousin, Helen Smith of Atlanta, GA.

Services will be held at the Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel Saturday, July 14 at 2pm and the family will be receiving guests at their home in Louisville following the service. As Madison was a sixth generation grandson of Knoxville founder James White, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the James White Fort, 205 East Hill Ave., Knoxville, TN 37915. Arrangements by Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. Online condolences may be made at www.rosemortuary.com.

Many thanks. TONI
