Nellie Honeycutt Hamilton, 98 of Stedman, died Thursday morning at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

She was born July 24, 1917 in Cumberland County to the late George Benton Honeycutt and Martha Honeycutt Honeycutt.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Hamilton and granddaughter, Kelly Ann Strickland. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Tressie Honeycutt Core, Mary Honeycutt Graham. Georgia Honeycutt Autry, Reba Mae Honeycutt, Emily Honeycutt Dorsey and Etta Honeycutt Moody; and brothers, Joe Honeycutt and Wylie Benton Honeycutt.

There are many other close family members and a host of special friends that will miss her greatly. She will forever be remembered for her devotion and love for family, church, and friends, and for her generous, compassionate and selfless spirit, her determination and perseverance.

She leaves innumerable treasured memories and lessons to all who were privileged to know her.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 2 to 2:45 p.m. at Magnolia Baptist Church, Stedman with the funeral services to follow at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jason Whitfield officiating.
