Funeral services for Robert Scott Yancey Sr are scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday at Boren-Conner funeral home in Bullard. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Monday at the funeral home.

Scott went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 24, 2015. He was born October 6, 1944 in Houston, Texas to the late Orby Alton Yancey and Joyce Marie Hobson Yancey. He was preceded in death by his sons, Brook Alan Yancey and Robert Scott Yancey Jr. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Wanda Yancey of Bullard; his daughter, Melody Yancey of Tyler; grandson, Corey Brooks of Nashville, TN; and granddaughters Brittany Lauren Yancey and Erika Kate Yancey of Lake City, TN.

His love for his family, for the people of God and music was only exceeded by his love for Christ. He was always ready to pray for people and to share the gospel. People in need of prayer would call him several times a week, sometimes daily from all over the U.S. to have Scott pray with them. He was a full time pastor, evangelist and missionary for 22 years. He held revivals and crusades throughout the U.S. and Canada and in Mexico, Jamaica, England and Haiti. He went back to school while pastoring and became a registered nurse. He was a registered nurse for 16 years.
