daughter of the late Peter and Stella (Dwyer) Ferguson
She was raised in Hartford and had lived in Windsor since 1946. Virginia graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy and was in the first graduating class at St. Joseph College, West Hartford.
She had been an elementary school teacher in the Windsor Public Schools for 20 years before retiring. A lifelong communicant of St. Gabriel's Church she was a member of the choir for over 50 years and one of the first members of the Good Shepherd Choir that volunteered to sing at parish funerals.
She was also past president of the Catholic Women's Club and the Rosary Society.
Virginia was an active volunteer in Windsor for many years and also an avid golfer. She played well into her 90's and had been past president of the Good Shepherd Choir that volunteered to sing at parish funerals. She leaves 2 daughters and their husbands, six grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
Besides her husband she was predeceased by two brothers John E. Ferguson and Philip T. Ferguson and a sister Doris Hayes.
