If you go to the 1920 and 1930 US Federal Census that I have posted as photos you will get quite a bit of information about this family. Also, I have notes about each. There is times when the name Elbert is also used for William James Akers.

In the 1930 US Federal Census, Page 20 of 28, lines 58-67, we fine William James, age 60, and his wife Ada Ann Wheeling Akers, age 55. Six of their children are still at home. Ernest, Ruby, Thomas, Mary, Boyd and Henry. The 3 oldest children not mentioned here were Wilburn, Madelene and John. William was a Farmer in General Farming. They owned their farm.

In this Census, same page, lines 66 and 67, we find Wade Wilson, age 84 and Sarah "Sallie" Duncan Akers, age 94, living with their oldest son and his family.

Wade and Sarah was married on March 17, 1870 in Floyd County, VA.

The 1930 Census was Enumerated on April 22, 1930. Sarah dies on Christmas Day, Dec 25, 1930. Wade dies 4 year later in Pulaski, VA. in 1934 at the age of 89. The Informant on his Death Certificate was G. W. Akers.

The 1920 US Federal Census is the only Census that has the whole William James and Ada Ann Wheeling Akers Family in it.

They rented their home in Newbern, Pulaski, VA. William was a Farm Laborer in General Farming.

William James Akers, age 79, son of Wade Wilson and Sarah "Sallie" Duncan Akers. The Informant on the Certificate of Death was sign by his youngest son Henry Clyde Akers.
