Ivan K. "Kenny" Thomas, 80, of rural Gladstone, Illinois died at 4:22 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born July 22, 1935 in Macomb, Illinois, he was the son of Ivan A. and Luella (Bowes) Thomas. On March 24, 1957 he married Phillis Huffman in West Burlington.
Mr. Thomas was a graduate of Burlington High School and Des Moines Barber College. He served four years in the Navy Reserves. He was a pipefitter working for Union Local 212 for 46 years and retiring in 1998.
Mr. Thomas enjoyed bowling, gardening, fishing, puzzles and reading. He was active with the Boy Scouts. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Kenny Thomas.
