Harriet A Friend was born in 1845 in Madison, Illinois. Her father, William, was 41 and her mother, Elizabeth, was 27. She married John Henry Bogue (1845-1869) in 1863 and they had the following children together:
James Henry Bogue 1864–1929
Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Bogue 1866–
John W Bogue 1867–1929
Frank Bogue
Chester Bogue

Her second marriage was to Anthony Green Walker with whom she had the following children:
Robert Franklin Walker 1873–1957
Fannie Angelica Walker 1876–1967
Phetra/Chetney "Toby" Walker 1878–1966
Cleo Patry Walker 1881
Philip Chester Walker 1884-1964

Harriet died on June 12, 1884, in Bogle Twp., Gentry Co., Missouri, at the age of 39 due to "Milk Leg" which is "A painful swelling of the leg occurring in women after childbirth as a result of clotting and inflammation of the femoral veins."
