Lois Hastings McCulley, age 94 of Shenandoah, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, April 6, 2016.

Lois was born in Amelia County, Virginia, on March 29, 1922 to the late James "Jimmy" William and Maggie Major Hastings. The youngest of ten children, she was the last surviving sibling.

Lois made her home in Amelia County before moving to the Valley in 1996, where she lived with her daughter and her daughter's family until her death.

She was a homemaker, music teacher, and pianist for various churches. She loved music and played for the choir at church.

She is survived by one daughter, Joyce M. Tennies of Shenandoah; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; numerous foster grandchildren and their families; beloved nieces, nephews, and their families; and dear family friend Charles Moon.

A Memorial service will be held at Oak Grove U. M. C. on Fleeburg Road in Shenandoah, VA on Sunday, April 10, 2016. The family will receive friends at the church at 2 PM, with services at 3 PM, Reverend Ellen Martin will officiate. Burial will follow at a later date in Amelia, Virginia.
