GEORGETOWN William E. Phelps, 43, formerly of Georgetown, died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Colorado Springs, Colo., during open heart surgery. He was a native of New Albany, a member of the Church of the Nazarene, a brickmason and a theological student. Survivors include his wife, Jane; three sons, Martin Phelps of Corydon, Darrell and Samuel Phelps, both at home; three daughters, Mrs. Cynthia Stevens of Charlestown, Mrs. Glenda Keith of Corydon, and Lisa Phelps at home, and five grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Dieckmann Funeral Home, with burial in Graceland Memorial Park. The body will be at the funeral home after 9 a.m. Saturday.
