Harry N. Bair, 89, of Temple, Pa., passed peacefully on April 2, 2016, in his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Harry is survived by his loving wife, Joyce (Yerger) Bair, with whom he would have celebrated 70 beautiful years of marriage this May; his son, Thomas Bair, and his fiancée, Julie Beiber; his daughters, Debbie Kelly, fiancée of William Engle, and Denise Buono, wife of Michael Buono.
He leaves behind his six grandsons, three granddaughters, three great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Thomas Bair Jr.
Harry was born on July 3, 1926, in Reading, Pa., to the late Ruth and Harry E. Bair. He left high school to proudly serve in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. In 2002, he received his honorary high school diploma from Muhlenberg High School.
Harry was a volunteer at the Goodwill Fire Company and a member of Alsace Lutheran Church. He was the manager of UAG Cash and Carry for 28 years. After retirement, Harry stocked shelves at Weis Market and volunteered at the voting polls in Hyde Park.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 9th, at 10:00 a.m. at Alsace Lutheran Church, 2201 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA. The family will receive friends and loved ones beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be held at the family's discretion.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund, 333 N. Summit Street, P.O. Box 10086, Toledo, OH 43699-0086.
