"BOWLING GREEN - Mary Ruble Henderson Carter, 85, of Bowling Green died at 7:20 a.m. June 16, 2007, at a Bowling Green nursing home.

The Butler County native was a housewife and a former employee of Fruit of the Loom. She was a daughter of the late Harvey and Mary Hampton Henderson. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Clifton, Raymond, Talmadge and Guy Henderson.

Funeral is at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sandy Creek Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member, with burial in Sandy Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Butler County. Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at J.C. Kirby and Son, Broadway Avenue Chapel, and begins at noon Tuesday at the church.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Ralph Carter; a daughter, Sharon Coots and her husband, John, of Morgantown; a son, Rex Carter and his wife, Kim, of Bowling Green; three sisters, Mable West of Bowling Green, Velma Givens of Morgantown and Ovie Beliles and her husband, Thel, of Smiths Grove; five grandchildren, Traci and Nicholas Carter of Bowling Green, Mechelle West and her husband, Jonathan, and Holly Neighbors and her husband, Jeremy, all of Morgantown and April Renfrow and her husband, Staff Sgt. James Renfrow, of Hopkinsville; three great-grandchildren, Makenna, Landon and Graham."
